PDPs

PDPs offer a model to address the need for new or improved products to combat diseases of the poor for which prevention or treatment is lacking or inadequate or that have become resistant to current treatments.  The PDP model emerged to fill gaps which other organizations could not or would not meet.

The success of each PDP will depend on its scope, the maturity of science, the ability to secure funding for its mission and the ability to work with other players in a way that ensure that the right product is developed and that it gets to those who need it most.”
